Nature Trail Walk

  • 1 Day
  • 26 Steps

About

During this walk, participants will be encouraged to listen, observe, and reflect on the relationships that exist between trees, plants, animals, water, and soil. Indigenous teachings often remind us that the forest is a community where each being has a role, and where balance is maintained through reciprocity, respect, and gratitude. This gathering is intended to support connection to land, community, and shared learning. We approach this time with humility, acknowledging that Indigenous knowledge is carried and shared by Knowledge Keepers, Elders, and communities, and we are grateful for the opportunity to learn from these teachings when they are shared. Participants are asked to come with good intentions, open hearts, and respect for the land and for one another. Time will be taken to move at a good pace for learning, reflection, and observation. This offering is suitable for community members, families, youth, and visitors who wish to deepen their relationship with the land and better understand Indigenous perspectives of stewardship and belonging. Ideal for: • Community members and families • School and youth groups • Cultural and land-based learning programs • Visitors wanting to deepen their connection to nature
